Manhattan Brass Co Student Lamp Patented May 23 1876 – Dec 25 1877 – May 20 1879

Specifically designed for studying and reading, engineered to provide steady light without throwing casting shadows on desk and to throw the light downwards from the shade.

The fuel canister (font) utilizes a gravity-fed valve system to automatically dispense the oil through the connecting arm as it burns away

The nickel plating on the lamp is in excellent condition, with original opal glass shade and correct slip chimney.

The burner and font are mounted to a central pole with an adjustable thumb screw allowing to adjust height from 21″ to 28″

Fully restored and burns well.
